The internet has no shortage of software reviews written by people who have never configured a churn prediction model or built a customer segment from scratch. Marketing copy gets repackaged as editorial content, affiliate commissions steer recommendations toward the highest bidder, and readers are left wondering whether anyone actually tested the product or simply paraphrased the vendor’s feature list with a few adjectives swapped out. Retention Club exists because we believe the teams responsible for keeping customers deserve better than that.
Editorial independence
Rankings cannot be purchased. Vendors propose paid partnerships with the regularity of seasons changing; the emails are read, acknowledged, and declined. We participate in affiliate programmes and may earn commissions when you click through and subscribe, but commercial relationships do not touch our assessments. When a retention platform overpromises on churn prediction, we say so. When a loyalty programme tool’s pricing model punishes the very growth it promises to support, we document it. Your trust matters more than any commission ever could.
How we will test
Each review follows a consistent process: we sign up for real accounts, configure real retention workflows, build customer segments, test automation triggers, and observe how platforms handle the complexity that separates a demo from daily operations. Pricing analysis will draw on real tier structures, not vague ranges. Feature comparisons will reflect what we observe, not what the marketing page claims. When a tool’s “intuitive” interface requires a certification course to navigate, we will note that too.
Living documents
Customer retention platforms change constantly. Pricing adjustments arrive without fanfare, features disappear in overnight updates, and acquisitions quietly alter the character of support teams. A review written a year ago describes software that may no longer exist in quite the same form. We will regularly return to our guides, updating details and noting when a platform’s promise has drifted from its reality. The story of a product does not end at publication.
Corrections
We will make mistakes. Software updates faster than any publication can track. If you spot an error or notice that a feature has changed since we reviewed it, we want to hear from you at [email protected]
